STONER - An Archive Of Being Together With Living Matter

/english below/

STONER - An Archive of Being Together With Living Matter

A multimedia-based accumulation of artefacts and records of the Being Together of humans and geologic forms
Interactive multimedia-archive 2020- ...

The project „STONER – An Archive of Being Together With Living Matter“, that I want to work on during my stay in Nida, is about the relationship between humans and the world of things that surrounds them.

The archive tries to question the anthropocentric position and the resulting human claim to power, in the form of a multi-perspectival archive.
Parts of the contributions of the archive describe inorganic structures from a human perspective, others look on humans from the unthinkable, unspeakable and impossible perspective of an inorganic agency.
In my project, this imaginary position is taken by stones and other geologic formations, since they provide us with basic materials for almost all man- made things.
As providers though, their materiality permeates – in the form of technologies – the human body, and will ultimately cause different forms of its disappearance.

At the same time, the contemplation of geologic formations grants an insight into a world, in which subjectivity is obsolete and existing is a cycle of becoming and wearing away. Geological structures remind us, that life on all levels functions via the formation and the decay of cooperative bonds, and not by means of the agency of individuals.

In the numerous files and artefacts of my imaginary archive, I speculate upon the future relationship between humans and their inorganic environment based on the contemporary discourse on geopolitics and geosocial strata.

I hope my research inspired confabulations will be a humble contribution to creating alternative human self - concepts, that build on the cooperation of species and leave behind ideas of dominion and utilization.
